The club has received funding from Local Councillor Joan Spicer, who used some of her ‘local project’ money to help the club purchase some sets of Junior bowls. The picture on the left shows her presenting a cheque for £500 to Club Treasurer Paul Cook ably assisted by members of the Priory Scout group. Other members can be seen holding the bowls.
2021 -
After a year bereft of bowling, Ixworth carried on where we left off in 2019 by winning three County Competitions in another good July for the Club. At the Ladies Finals held at Yoxford BC the 2 Bowl Rink of Jenny Ronchetti, Pat Jennings and Ann Lilley were triumphant. While at the Mens Finals at Thurlton BC Matthew Smith won both the 2 Bowl and the
4 Bowl Singles titles.
Unfortunately on difficult greens at Skegness ultimate victory was not to be. The ladies lost to a good block from Cleveland who went on to narrowly lose in the final. Christine Chambers was a late call up for the block in place of Jenny, who had succumbed to Covid.

LATEST NEWS
The Clubs open day was a great success with a number of visitors expressing an interest in the sport.
We were delighted that a number of children also attended and enjoyed their time with us, and we will be beginning Saturday morning FAMILY SESSIONS starting on 21st May.
These sessions will be FREE and last for one hour, starting at 10.30 As well as bowling to a jack, which is the normal game of bowls, we will also be using a target mat and a scoring slope to add a bit more fun to proceedings.
Parents are also welcome to have a go while attending.
Note: The start time can be 30 minutes later on request.
