Ixworth Bowls Club is pleased to announce that it has linked up with the excellent Priory School in Bury St. Edmunds.

The schools scout group will attend the club on six occasions during the 2016 season to try their hand at lawn bowls.  The scouts will work towards a badge that shows they have learnt a new skill, and hopefully at the same time enjoy playing the game of bowls, a sport that has no boundaries and is open to all.

If you would like to look at the work of the school, click on the Priory School logo to go to their website.

The club has received funding from Local Councillor Joan Spicer, who used some of her ‘local project’ money to help the club purchase some sets of Junior bowls. The picture on the right shows her presenting a cheque for £500 to Club Treasurer Paul Cook ably assisted by members of the Priory Scout group.  Other members can be seen holding the bowls.

County Success for Ann, Pat and Matthew.

Congratulations to Ann Lilley and Pat Jennings (pictured left) who have won the Suffolk Ladies Senior Pairs competition for the third time, and now go to Skegness for the National Finals, where they will also be members of the County Donald Steward team.

Matthew (pictured right) with his trophy is also Skegness bound after winning the Suffolk Secretaries Singles.  Matthew will also represent the county as a team member in the Adams trophy final.
